A Special Livery was created for Alfa Romeo’s 111th Birthday

Alfa Romeo is a symbol in the world of cars. It does not solely stand for the name of a car brand. It much more directly exemplifies a pleasing hybrid of history and luster. In the usual quest to mix vintage with modern spice, Alfa Romeo will be celebrating their 111th birthday with special livery. By returning to Formula 1 in 2018 as the sponsor for Sauber, they register their presence in the car racing space. Much more, they reinforced their attendance by having the name of the team for 2019 as Alfa Romeo Racing. As Alfa Romeo marks their 111th birthday, it will be commemorated by a special livery of the C41s at the Styrian Grand Prix. Their Twitter post reads, “A special livery for a special occasion” with attending celebratory emojis.

In the revelation of the event logo, the team has done a creative job with the “111” engraved on the engine bay of the car. With more exposition into the creative process, the team states that “The cross is warped in a sequence of number one figures, developing in a perspective as to represent the passing of time and giving a dynamic twist to the number 111,”.  The design of the car would also include a special character on the nosecone. The mark does have a nostalgic feel to it. In the words of Formula1, the special mark on the front nosecone is “reminiscent of the ‘trilobe’, a shape that can be found on the grilles of their range of road cars”.

The 2021 season for Alfa Romeo spells hope. They have collected two points so far across the season and are optimistic about the coming games. At Paul Ricard, however, things seem not to have been as favorable. This is mainly because both drivers finished outside the points. In the recent statement by Giovinazzi, he expresses that “It was not many days, only three, but we understand that for sure the conditions on Sunday [at Paul Ricard] were completely different from what we had on Friday…the rain the morning, plus the gusts in the race was not easy especially for our car maybe, but we will see now here, we have different conditions, we don’t know if it will rain or will stay dry…hopefully this track can be better for us.”
