This new Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm takes the best qualities of the original Quadrifoglio and ramps them up to 11. Alfa Romeo stunned the world with its high-performance sedan, the Giulia, when it launched the Giulia a couple of years ago.
In many ways, the end product exceeded the M car, which initially was laughed off as a novelty. Those of us who knew full well that the GTA badge would return immediately stood up and took notice. In addition, there is the GTAm, a track-only version of the already stripped-down GTA sports car, and it’s simply amazing.
Power up!
Power increases from 540 horsepower to 560 for the GTA cars. It has upgraded pistons, con-rods, cooling system, exhaust system, and navigation. The GTAm’s 2.9 liter twin-turbo V6 is similar to a Ferrari V8.Â
Weight Reduced by 220 Pounds
This figure should be 110 pounds lighter for the slightly less stripped-down and more road-friendly GTA. In addition to the rear seat boot, the GTAm has door cards that are reduced to their bare-bones minimum. With the slight increase in performance and weight saving, it makes for a far more rewarding experience. The stiffer suspension and track-oriented wheels will make daily driving a bit of a chore, however.
A class-leading power-to-weight ratio
This engine has the highest horsepower-to-tonnage ratio (355.2). Even without the back seats, the carbon fiber makes it a completely different animal compared to the Giulia. It is a unique type of car that is anything but ordinary.
